Foreign Quarantine; Etiological Agents, Hosts, and Vectors

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is issuing this Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to revise the regulations that cover the importation of etiological agents and the hosts and vectors of human disease. The changes are proposed to improve CDC's ability to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of communicable diseases into the United States.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as part of its continuing effort to reduce public burden and maximize the utility of government information, invites the general public and other federal agencies the opportunity to comment on a proposed information collection, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. This notice invites comment on a proposed information collection project titled Public Health Crisis Response (PHCR) Cooperative Agreement. The Public Health Crisis Response (PHCR) Cooperative Agreement provides rapid funding to help existing public health programs respond to major public health emergencies and crises.
