U.S. Department of Energy Tentatively Classifies Set-Top Boxes and Network Equipment as Covered Products Under Energy Policy and Conservation Act

The U.S. Department of Energy has tentatively determined that set-top boxes and network equipment meet the criteria for covered products, as they are necessary to carry out the purposes of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act and have a significant impact on household energy use, exceeding 100 kilowatt-hours per year.
