U.S. Department of Energy Proposes Classification of Commercial and Industrial Fans, Blowers, and Fume Hoods as Covered Equipment

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to classify commercial and industrial fans, blowers, and fume hoods as covered equipment under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), in order to improve the efficiency of electric motors and pumps and conserve the nation's energy resources.
