FCC Extends Deadline for Comments on Proposed Set-Top Box Classification

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has extended the deadline for public comments on its proposed determination to classify set-top boxes and network equipment as covered consumer products, now set for September 30, 2011, from the original deadline of June 30, 2011. The FCC is considering this classification as part of its Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products and Certain Commercial and Industrial Equipment.
