Basis of Indebtedness of S Corporations to Their Shareholders: Proposed Regulations

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has proposed new regulations that would require S corporation shareholders to prove that any indebtedness to the corporation is 'bona fide' in order to increase their basis in the corporation, affecting shareholders of S corporations and prompting a public hearing.
