NMFS Closes Nantucket Lightship Access Area Due to Emergency Measures
Summary
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has temporarily closed the Nantucket Lightship Access Area, scheduled to open on June 15, 2011, to prevent high levels of scallop and yellowtail flounder catch, in line with the proposed Framework Adjustment 22 to the Atlantic Sea Scallop Fishery Management Plan.
