DEA Schedules Methylone as a Controlled Substance

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has placed the substance 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylcathinone (methylone) and its variants into Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), following a formal rulemaking process. This action was made in accordance with the CSA, which mandates that such decisions be made on record after providing a hearing opportunity.
