FinCEN Proposes Regulations to Monitor Iran-Related Financial Transactions
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is proposing new regulations to require U.S. banks to report on potential Iran-related financial transactions, in compliance with the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act of 2010 (CISADA). The proposed rules would require banks to inquire about and report on transfers of funds related to Iran's proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or support for international terrorism.
