Requirements for Subsurface Safety Valve Equipment Update by MMS

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) is updating its regulations to incorporate the latest version of the American Petroleum Institute's (API) Specification for Subsurface Safety Valve Equipment (API Spec 14A), which includes updated design validation and testing requirements, new design changes, and clarified ambiguous areas. This change aims to ensure lessees and operators use the safest technologies while operating in the Outer Continental Shelf.
