National Park Service Benefits-Sharing Final Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision

The National Park Service has released a Record of Decision for the Benefits-Sharing Final Environmental Impact Statement, outlining the preferred alternative for allocating benefits from research conducted within the National Park System. The decision, made on March 5, 2010, will enable the implementation of this alternative, which clarifies the rights and responsibilities of researchers and NPS management in connection with the allocation of benefits from valuable discoveries, inventions, and other developments resulting from research involving specimens lawfully collected from units of the National Park System.
