NMFS Prepares Draft Environmental Impact Statement for American Lobster Fishery Management

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has released a draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) for the American lobster fishery in Federal waters, outlining proposed management actions and alternatives based on recommendations from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC). The proposed measures include limited access programs and individual transferable trap programs, which will be evaluated through public meetings and comments.
