NTIA Announces Grant to PBS for Commercial Mobile Alert System

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) plans to award a grant to the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), a private, nonprofit organization that operates America's public television stations, to support the development of the Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS), a national emergency alert system that will distribute critical messages to the public via commercial mobile devices.
