NMFS Amends Atlantic Pelagic Longline Take Reduction Plan

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is amending the Atlantic Pelagic Longline Take Reduction Plan to reduce mortality and serious injury of short-finned pilot whales incidental to the Atlantic pelagic longline fishery, as required by the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA). The amendments are based on recommendations from the Atlantic Pelagic Longline Take Reduction Team.
