Streamlining Probationary and Trial Period Appeals

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is proposing a rule change to streamline appeals for employees terminated during probationary or trial periods, and supervisors who fail to complete their probationary periods. The proposed rule would limit appeals to discrimination based on partisan political reasons or marital status, and failure to follow procedures for terminations based on pre-appointment reasons.
