Implementation of Employment Authorization for Individuals Covered by Deferred Enforced Departure for Hong Kong

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is providing employment authorization to eligible Hong Kong residents through February 5, 2025, under the Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) program. This authorization is part of a memorandum issued by President Joseph Biden on January 26, 2023, which extended and expanded the deferral of removal of certain Hong Kong residents present in the United States.
