NRC Grants Exemption to NorthStar Vallecitos, LLC for Low-Level Radioactive Waste Shipment Notification

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted an exemption to NorthStar Vallecitos, LLC (NSV) for Vallecitos Nuclear Center (VNC) to extend the time period for receiving shipment acknowledgement from 20 to 45 days, citing operational experience that shipments may take longer than 20 days to reach their destination.
