Coast Guard Updates Vessel Titling Regulations to Combat 'Title Washing',

The U.S. Coast Guard has finalized a rule to encourage states to adopt the Uniform Certificate of Title Act for Vessels, allowing them to certify their titling systems and confer preferred mortgage status on undocumented vessels, thereby preventing 'title washing' of damaged vessels.
