Public Review of Draft Coastal and Marine Ecological Classification Standard

The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) is conducting a public review of the draft Coastal and Marine Ecological Classification Standard (CMECS), a protocol for classifying ecological units in coastal and marine areas. The draft standard, developed by the FGDC Coastal and Marine Spatial Data Subcommittee, is now available for public comment at http://www.csc.noaa.gov/benthic/cmecs/CMECS_doc.pdf.
