Promoting Accountability for Conflict-Related Sexual Violence

The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has launched a new initiative to promote accountability for conflict-related sexual violence, following a recent report by the UN Secretary-General highlighting the need for greater action to prevent and address this form of violence, which affects millions of women and girls worldwide, particularly in conflict-affected countries such as South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Syria.
