FAA Adopts New Airworthiness Directive for Leonardo S.p.a. AW189 Helicopters

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a new airworthiness directive requiring the replacement of certain parts on Leonardo S.p.a. Model AW189 helicopters due to a design flaw that could pose an icing condition risk, and prohibits the installation of these parts on helicopters certified under a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) directive.
