Duke Energy to Conduct Supplemental Scoping Process for Oconee Nuclear Station License Renewal

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is seeking public comment on a supplemental scoping process for Duke Energy Carolinas' (Duke Energy) subsequent license renewal of Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2, and 3, with the goal of preparing a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) to evaluate the environmental impacts of extending the station's operation for an additional 20 years.
