Draft Environmental Impact Statement Addressing Heat and Electrical Upgrades at Fort Wainwright, Alaska

The US Department of the Army has released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the environmental impacts of upgrading the heat and electrical infrastructure at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, due to the aging coal-fired power plant and heat distribution system. The Army will consider comments on the Draft EIS before selecting a preferred alternative.
