VA Withdraws Proposal to Amend Regulations on Medical Record Release

The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has withdrawn a 2018 proposal that would have allowed health information exchange (HIE) community partners to attest to patient consent for releasing confidential medical records, instead requiring a written consent form.
