FCC Proposes New Rules for GSO Fixed-Satellite Service Operations in 17.3-17.8 GHz Band

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed new rules to enable geostationary satellite orbit (GSO) space stations to operate downlinks in the 17.3-17.8 GHz frequency band, subject to certain limitations, and also proposes related technical updates to its rules governing the fixed-satellite service and broadcasting-satellite service to prevent harmful interference.
