US to Lift Varietal Restrictions on Apples from Japan, Allowing Import of All Malus domestica Varieties

The US Department of Agriculture is amending regulations to allow the importation of all varieties of Malus domestica apples from Japan, under the same conditions as those for Fuji variety apples, after determining that the risk associated with other varieties is comparable to that of Fuji apples.
