NMFS Transfers 53.2 Metric Tons of Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Quota to General Category

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is shifting 53.2 metric tons of Atlantic bluefin tuna quota from the Reserve category to the General category to address an overharvest of 33.7 metric tons from previous time periods, allowing General category fishermen to participate in the December fishery, which is set to reopen on December 1, 2019.
