FEMA and NRC Issue Final Guidance on Radiological Emergency Response Plans for Nuclear Power Plants

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) have released a new final guidance document (NUREG-0654/FEMA-REP-1, Rev. 2) outlining criteria for preparing and evaluating emergency response plans for commercial nuclear power plants, with the aim of protecting public health and safety in the event of radiological incidents.
