FCC Seeks Public Comment on Delayed STIR/SHAKEN Implementation and Robocall Abuse
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking public comment on how to address a situation where a telecommunications provider is not meeting the deadline to implement STIR/SHAKEN, a security standard to prevent robocalls, and is repeatedly involved in large-scale unlawful robocall campaigns. The FCC is considering action under the Pallone-Thune Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act (TRACED Act).
