EPA Amends Exemption for Zinc Oxide in Pesticide Formulations

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has amended an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of zinc oxide, a stabilizer used in pesticide formulations applied to crops or raw agricultural commodities after harvest, to include concentrations up to 15% by weight, following a petition from Nutrenare-AG, Inc. under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA).
