FERC Proposes Approval of NERC's Interpretation of Reliability Standards for Special Protection Systems

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is proposing to approve the North American Electric Reliability Corporation's (NERC) interpretation of certain Reliability Standards, specifically addressing whether a Special Protection System (SPS) operating with one communication channel is considered 'degraded'. The Commission also plans to direct NERC to develop modifications to the standards to ensure reporting requirements are met.
