Improving Public Safety Communications in the 800 MHz Band
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has streamlined its rules to speed up the successful completion of its 14-year, $3.6 billion 800 MHz band reconfiguration program, also known as rebanding. This program, involving Sprint Corporation and 800 MHz licensees, aims to eliminate interference that hindered first responders' mission-critical communications before the FCC implemented rebanding in 2008.
