Military Service by Transgender Individuals

The US Department of Defense has announced a new policy allowing transgender individuals to serve openly in the military, effective January 1, 2023, after a review of the policy by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, in accordance with the President's Executive Order 1397, which prohibits discrimination against transgender individuals in the military.
