NMFS Closes General Category Fishery for Large Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Until October 1, 2017

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has closed the General category fishery for large, medium, and giant Atlantic bluefin tuna until October 1, 2017, to prevent overfishing and ensure reasonable fishing opportunities. This closure is part of the agency's efforts to manage the General category's September 2017 subquota.
