Navy Amends Certifications and Exemptions Under International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea

The US Navy is updating its rules to inform mariners of a new exemption for the USS Michael Monsoor, a Navy destroyer, due to its unique construction and purpose, which cannot fully comply with certain collision prevention regulations without interfering with its naval function.
