NRC Proposes Amendments to Incorporate ASME Code Cases

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to update its regulations to include proposed revisions of three regulatory guides, which would approve new and revised Code Cases published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). This change would allow nuclear power plant operators to use these Code Cases as alternative engineering standards for certain construction and maintenance tasks.
