FCC Authorizes Voluntary Use of Next Gen TV Standard

The Federal Communications Commission has given television broadcasters the green light to adopt the 'Next Generation' broadcast television standard, also known as ATSC 3.0, on a voluntary basis, provided they continue to offer current-generation digital TV service using the ATSC 1.0 standard.
