Umatilla National Forest Plans Environmental Impact Statement for Ellis Integrated Vegetation Management Project
The Heppner and North Fork John Day Ranger Districts in Oregon's Umatilla National Forest are proposing the Ellis Integrated Vegetation Project to address overstocking, improve ecosystem health, and promote resilient landscapes through heterogeneous vegetation conditions. The project aims to reduce the risk of wildfires, enhance wildlife habitats, and protect public safety, while also addressing social, cultural, and economic needs in the region.
