Technical Amendments and Recodification of Alaska Humpback Whale Approach Regulations

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is making minor technical revisions to Alaska humpback whale approach regulations, reflecting changes in the Endangered Species Act (ESA) listing status of humpback whales. The updates clarify protections under the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) for all humpback whales in or near Alaskan waters.
