NIOSH Publishes Guidance on Closed-Circuit Escape Respirators

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has released a guidance document addressing the availability of closed-circuit escape respirators (CCERs) and the readiness of respirator manufacturers to comply with federal regulations. The guidance aims to clarify the status of 1-hour escape respirators, also known as self-contained self-rescuers (SCSRs), that were previously manufactured and sold before January 4, 2018.
