FDA Announces Availability of Draft Guidance for Humanitarian Device Exemption Program

The Food and Drug Administration has released a draft guidance document outlining the criteria for the Humanitarian Device Exemption (HDE) program, which determines if a device has probable benefit for a humanitarian use, and incorporates recent amendments to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
