DoD Proposes Changes to Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting Systems (DEERS) to Enhance Security and Benefit Eligibility

The Office of the Secretary of Defense is proposing to modify the DEERS system to record DoD badge and ID card issuance, authenticate personnel, grant facility access, and track benefit eligibility, while also detecting fraud and abuse, and maintaining Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGLI) coverage.
