EPA Exempts Aureobasidium Pullulans Strains from Tolerance Requirements for Food Commodities

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has amended an existing exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of Aureobasidium pullulans strains DSM 14940 and DSM 14941, allowing these strains to be used in food commodities when following label directions and good agricultural practices, eliminating the need for a maximum permissible level under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA). Bio-ferm GmbH submitted a petition to EPA requesting this amendment.
