USGS Revises Categorical Exclusions for Environmental Reviews of Fault Trench Excavations and Monitoring Structure Removals

The U.S. Geological Survey is updating its procedures for evaluating the environmental impact of excavating trenches across potentially active faults and removing hydrologic monitoring structures, with the goal of streamlining the review process and reducing unnecessary assessments.
