EPA Finds California Fails to Submit State Plan for Reducing Air Pollution Transport to Other States
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has determined that California has not submitted a revised State Implementation Plan (SIP) to address the transport of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) air pollution to other states, as required by the Clean Air Act. The EPA has set a 24-month deadline for California to develop a Federal Implementation Plan (FIP) to address this issue, unless the state submits a revised SIP for approval.
