NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC has been granted an exemption by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) from specific regulations regarding the minimum temperature requirements for the reactor pressure vessel closure flange region, due to the material properties of the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) closure flange region that is highly stressed by the bolt preload, following a request submitted on July 24, 2014.
