IRS Finalizes Regulations on Reporting by Foreign Financial Institutions and Withholding on Certain Payments

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released final regulations under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, requiring foreign financial institutions to report information about U.S. accounts and withholding taxes on certain payments to these institutions and other foreign entities.
