Venezuela: Implementation of Certain Military End Uses and End Users License Requirements Under the Export Administration Regulations

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has amended the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to impose license requirements on the export, reexport, or transfer of certain items to or within Venezuela when intended for a military end use or end user, following the country's violent repression of its people. This change complements an existing U.S. arms embargo against Venezuela due to its failure to cooperate in counterterrorism efforts.
