EPA Partially Approves, Disapproves Utah's State Implementation Plan Revisions for PM 2.5 NAAQS

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has partially approved and partially disapproved the State of Utah's State Implementation Plan (SIP) submissions to ensure compliance with the Clean Air Act's infrastructure requirements for the 1997 and 2006 fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The EPA is also approving portions of Utah's SIP revisions, which revise the state's Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) program to incorporate new requirements for PM 2.5 New Source Review (NSR) and Increment Rule.
