U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Amendment to Spent Fuel Storage Regulations

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to update its regulations for storing spent nuclear fuel by revising the Transnuclear, Inc. Standardized NUHOMS Cask System, which includes changes to the design and approved contents of two new dry shielded canisters and the extension of a storage module.
