NRC Approves ASME Code Cases for Nuclear Power Plants

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is updating its regulations to incorporate the latest revisions of three NRC Regulatory Guides (RGs) that approve new and revised Code Cases published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). This change allows nuclear power plant licensees to use the Code Cases listed in these RGs as alternatives to engineering standards for the construction, inspection, and testing of nuclear power plant components.
